Dallas Animal Services (DAS) competed in the third-annual Innovation Showdown on Wednesday, April 17, and received a $200,000 investment in its cutting-edge customer service application, the Dallas90 Shelter Service System (D90SSS).
The award will go towards funding the development and implementation of this lifesaving application. On Saturday evening Miss Fort Worth Shannon Sanderford was crowned Miss Texas 2015 by Miss Texas 2014 Monique Evans at the 80th Miss Texas Scholarship Competition held at the Eisemann Center in Richardson.
After a week filled with excitement, 57 beautiful women competed for the honor of representing the State of Texas in the Miss America Pageant which will take place in Atlantic City, NJ on September 13, 2015.
The competition opened with the individual introduction of each of the contestants and this was followed by the runway appearance of the Miss Texas Lone Star Princesses.
The Judges of the 2015 Miss Texas Pageant were next briefly introduced and then the Top Twelve Finalists were announced.

A brief intermission followed and then the Top 12 Finalist competed in the swimsuit competition, the talent competition, the evening gown competition and they each answered a randomly picked onstage question. Loud cheers of support were often heard for crowd favorites such as Miss Richardson, Miss Dallas, Miss Plano and Miss Fort Worth.
Judge’s next named their Top 5 Finalists which culminated in the crowing of Miss Fort Worth, Shannon Sanderford, as Miss Texas 2015.
The 2015 Miss Texas First Runner-up was Miss Park Cities, Madison Adams. The Second Runner-up was Miss Richardson Jessica Barerra; the Third Runner-up was Miss Dallas, Madison Fuller and the Fourth Runner-up was Miss DFW, Devin Kerns.
Miss Texas 2015, Shannon Sanderford, will receive a $15,000 cash scholarship and the use of an Infiniti from Grubbs Infiniti during her reign. In addition to competing for scholarships, each contestant actively participates in raising funds for the Children's Miracle Network, which is the national platform of Miss America.
Produced by the Miss Texas Organization, the Miss Texas competition exists for the purpose of providing personal and professional opportunities for young Texas women and promoting their voice in culture, politics and community. The competition was founded in 1936 by a Scholarship Pageant has evolved into what is recognized today as one of the best organized and well managed of all state pageants.
