Judge Patricia Ashcroft Retires after Distinguished Career

On Friday afternoon dozens of friends, colleagues and family members gathered at the Forney Sub Courthouse to wish farewell to Justice of the Peace for Precinct 2, Patricia B. Ashcroft.

A longtime resident of Forney, Judge Ashcroft served as the Municipal Judge for Forney for many years before being elected as Kaufman County Justice of the Peace for Precinct 2 in January 2011.


Forney Police Make Two Arrest in Gun Store Burglaries

On April 18th, 2017 at 1:28 am, Forney Police responded to CYA Guns & Ammo, located at 206 E US Hwy 80 due to a reported burglary.

Forney CID detectives began an investigation and with the assistance of ATF, Glenn Heights, and Highland Park Police Departments, a suspect has been arrested for this offense.

Coredarius Quinte Douglas, B/M 24, was arrested on 04/30/2017 and has been charged with a Federal case of Felon in Possession of a Firearm. He remains in the custody of US Marshals.

On June 4th, 2017 at 8:02 am, Forney Police again responded to a second burglary of CYA Guns & Ammo. The Forney Police Department wishes to thank ATF, Waxahachie and Ennis Police Departments for their assistance with this investigation.



Brian Javier Morales, W/M 18 was arrested on 08/01/2017. He has been charged with Burglary of a Building S/J and Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity F/3.

He was transported to Kaufman County Sheriff's Department where he is being held on $150,000 bond. The investigation is continuing and additional arrests are expected.
