On November 10, 2017 at 8:20 p.m., during the Unity Bowl football game between the Forney High Jackrabbits and the North Forney High Falcons, Forney Police arrested Terrell resident Rodnee Khalyie Lindell Land for Possession of a Controlled Substance in a Drug Free Zone.
Forney Police recently released the Texas Incident Report pertaining to this arrest, and although the document is considerably redacted of descriptive information, its clearly describes how Forney Police Officer Tanner Gilbert was informed of the drug activity as he worked security during the FISD football competition.
Officer Tanner’s sworn statement declares that he was informed that “the males were observed with a large sum of money and one was seen handing someone a small baggie containing an unknown white substance.”
Listed on the police report as a 19 year old student, Rodnee Land was placed in handcuffs without incident and was then “found to be in possession of a substance in penalty group 3 (less than 28 grams) in a drug-free zone”.
Land was subsequently booked into the Forney Criminal Justice Center for the Class A criminal offense.
