Dallas Animal Services Awarded $200,000 Investment at Innovation Showdown

Dallas Animal Services (DAS) competed in the third-annual Innovation Showdown on Wednesday, April 17, and received a $200,000 investment in its cutting-edge customer service application, the Dallas90 Shelter Service System (D90SSS). 

The award will go towards funding the development and implementation of this lifesaving application. Once developed and fine-tuned, DAS plans to share the application with shelters across the country, allowing them to customize it for their needs and increase their ability to save lives.


Forney Police Chase Suspect from Gateway Blvd to Wills Point

On Monday, March 12, 2018 at 10:18 p.m., the Forney Police Department tried to initiate a traffic stop at E/B US Hwy 80 and Gateway Blvd. The offender refused to stop, and a 36 min chase ensued.

The suspect vehicle was disabled near US Hwy 80 and 4th Street in Wills Point, Texas.

With the assistance of the Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office, Texas Department of Public Safety, Wills Point Police Department, and the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Department, the offender was taken into custody.

Arrested was 36-year-old Aaron Woodcock, w/m of Rowlett, Texas. Woodcock is charged with MB DWI, MA Resisting Arrest, and STJF Evading. Woodcock was transported the Kaufman County Jail.

The Forney Police Department wishes to thank all the assisting agencies for their help and to all the Law Enforcement Officers who showed commendable restraint resulting in a safe conclusion to this incident.
