On June 9, 1994 at approximately 10:17 pm Francisco Sanchez Salazar, a 25 year old Hispanic man, was shot approximately 14 times at the City Coin Laundry in Kaufman.
On Sunday September 4th, 2016 at approximately 9:00 pm, Forney Police Officers, EMS, and the Forney Fire Department responded to the area of West Bound US Hwy 80 and the FM 460 exit in regards to a major accident.
The accident involved one vehicle which had reportedly left the roadway and struck a tree. Two persons from the accident were transported by air to Methodist Hospital in Dallas.
On Friday September 2nd, 2016 at approximately 4:00 pm, Forney Police Officers, Forney Fire Department, and CareFlite Emergency Medical Services responded to the area of FM 1641 and Gateway Boulevard in reference to a major accident. It was reported to Forney Dispatch as being a 2 vehicle head on collision. There was one fatality located at the scene upon arrival.
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton today announced the arrest of three suspected child predators in Crockett, Texas.
The Office of the Attorney General’s Child Exploitation Unit conducted a joint sting operation with the Houston County Sheriff’s Office which led to the three arrests. The sting operation exposed child predators who travel with the intent of committing sex crimes against a minor that they sexually solicited through the internet.

Kaufman Police Officers responded to an address in the 200 block of Cates Drive in the City of Kaufman in reference to a Welfare Concern. Officers attempted to make entry to check on the individual when someone in the residence fired a shot.
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton recently announced the Attorney General’s Child Exploitation Unit (CEU) successfully executed a search warrant resulting in the arrest of Jarrett Ray Dwayne Palitza, 22, of Adkins on six counts of Possession of Child Pornography.
The CEU received a request for assistance from the Sealy Police Department involving a case of sexual assault of a 10-year-old female and potential possession and distribution of child pornography.

At approximately 9:41 a.m. on Tuesday March 22, 2016 Kaufman Police responded to a report of shots fired at the Walmart store, located at 300 Kings Fort Parkway in Kaufman, Texas.
Upon arrival Officers entered the Garden Area of the store and discovered two (2) males with gunshot wounds.
On Saturday, February 27, 2016, it was reported to the Forney Police Department that a local business had been burglarized. This was one of three local businesses that had been hit sometime during the night on Friday or in the early morning hours on Saturday.
At approximately 6:20 a.m. on Friday February 26, 2016 Kaufman Police arrested a suspect in an ongoing investigation into the possession and distribution of child pornography.
