Adkins Man Arrested on Child Pornography Charges

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton recently announced the Attorney General’s Child Exploitation Unit (CEU) successfully executed a search warrant resulting in the arrest of Jarrett Ray Dwayne Palitza, 22, of Adkins on six counts of Possession of Child Pornography.

The CEU received a request for assistance from the Sealy Police Department involving a case of sexual assault of a 10-year-old female and potential possession and distribution of child pornography.

Pimp and John Receive Lengthy Federal Prison Sentences

Luis Rivera, 19, of Irving, Texas, was recently sentenced by U.S. District Judge Jane J. Boyle to 188 months in federal prison, following his guilty plea in October 2015 to one count of conspiracy to commit sex trafficking of children, announced U.S. Attorney John Parker of the Northern District of Texas.

Three Area Doctors Convicted for Sophisticated Health Care Fraud Scheme

Following a six-week-long trial before U.S. District Judge Sam A. Lindsay and less than two days of deliberation, a federal jury recently convicted a Dallas physician and three owners of home health agencies on various felony offenses, including conspiracy to commit health care fraud, stemming from their participation in a nearly $375 million health care fraud scheme involving fraudulent claims for home health services, announced U.S. Attorney John Parker of the Northern District of Texas.

Kaufman Police Investigate Walmart Shooting

At approximately 9:41 a.m. on Tuesday March 22, 2016 Kaufman Police responded to a report of shots fired at the Walmart store, located at 300 Kings Fort Parkway in Kaufman, Texas.

Upon arrival Officers entered the Garden Area of the store and discovered two (2) males with gunshot wounds.
