Dallas Celebrates Municipal Court Week

The Dallas Municipal Court is proud to announce a Municipal Courts Week celebration from Nov. 5-9, at the courthouse located at 2014 Main St. Municipal Courts Week is dedicated to recognizing the contributions

that Texas municipal courts make to the safety and well-being of our communities.

All are welcome to attend this free event! There will be traffic safety displays at the courthouse and Court staff will be available to answer questions about the court’s role in the community and services provided. Free traffic safety materials and other goodies will be available at the courthouse.

In addition, several events scheduled during the week include community engagement activities and educational presentations at various locations:

Monday, Nov. 5, 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.: Presentation by Richard Miles, Founder/President/CEO of Bridging the Gap from Prison to Promise, located at the Dallas Municipal Court in the central jury room on the second floor.

Tuesday, Nov. 6: 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.: Municipal Court Judiciary volunteer event serving lunch at The Stewpot, 1818 Corsicana St.

Wednesday, Nov. 7, 9 a.m.: Kolaches for “Kops” at the Dallas Municipal Court.
11 a.m.: “Blessing Bags” full of toiletries and the Judges will be reading a book to the preschoolers at Mi Escuelita, located at 4321 Maple Ave.

Thursday, Nov. 8, 9:30 a.m.: Educational presentation at Carter High School, located at 1819 W. Wheatland Rd. Judges will partner with Dallas Police Department (DPD) detectives to educate high school students about the dangers of distracted and impaired driving.

Friday, Nov. 9, 8:30 a.m.: Educational presentation at DeWitt Perry Middle School, located at 1709 E. Beltline Rd. Judges will partner with DPD detectives to educate 8th graders about the dangers of alcohol, drugs, and the importance of staying in school.
