Judge Patricia Ashcroft Retires after Distinguished Career

On Friday afternoon dozens of friends, colleagues and family members gathered at the Forney Sub Courthouse to wish farewell to Justice of the Peace for Precinct 2, Patricia B. Ashcroft.

A longtime resident of Forney, Judge Ashcroft served as the Municipal Judge for Forney for many years before being elected as Kaufman County Justice of the Peace for Precinct 2 in January 2011.

Judge Ashcroft has had a long and distinguished career in Kaufman County which includes being the first female police officer for the City of Forney and the first female investigator in the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Department Investigations Division.

A lovely retirement reception was held at the Forney Sub Courthouse to honor Judge Ashcroft’s service to the citizens, and many past and present elected officials stopped by to wish Judge Ashcroft joy and happiness upon her upcoming retirement.

On January 1, 2019 JP-elect Amy Tarno will be officially sworn-in as the new Kaufman County Precinct 2 Justice of the Peace. Tarno was at the reception to wish Judge Ashcroft farewell and to thank her for her years of service to the citizens of Kaufman County.

After thanking her many friends and supporters for attending her retirement reception, Judge Ashcroft said “And last but not least, I’d like to thank the good Lord for blessing me and for placing me in a position to meet so many wonderful people. To be able to help people when I needed to, and for leading me on this journey that he has planned for me, that’s not yet over. So thank you all again for being here, it means more than I can say.”
