During the 64th Annual Conference on Vital Statistics, the Kaufman County Clerk’s Office was once again presented with the ‘2018 Exemplary Five Star Award’ by the Texas Department of Health, Vital Statistics Division.
This year’s prestigious ‘exemplary level status’ was only awarded to 17 other County Clerk Offices and the 2018 award marks the 12th year in a row that the County Clerk’s office has received the award!
The Texas Department of Health states that, “The Five Star Award acknowledges Vital Statistics Partners who understand the importance of vital statistics and its impact on the citizens of Texas. This award honors Partners who go above and beyond the duties of birth and death registration by attending trainings & keeping up with the latest legislation and trends.”
Laura Hughes, the Kaufman County Clerk, and her staff are elated about winning and bringing this award back to Kaufman County! Mrs. Hughes attributes this success to the hard work performed daily by her outstanding Vital Statistics team: Bobbie Sue Bartlett, Kylie Doss, Maribel Vazquez, Elsa Smith, Jamie Brumit and Darla Gronewald. “I’m so proud of these ladies, because they go above and beyond every day to safeguard the county records and this award recognizes them for that.”
