Forney ISD Refutes Social Media Rumors about NFHS Student Incident

The Forney ISD has released the below letter addressed to the parents of North Forney High School students.

Forney ISD Executive Director of Marketing & Communications, Kristin Zastoupil explained that "a lot of social media rumors started about the incident at NFHS this morning due to it going out over the scanner".

The district has issued the below letter in order to clarify the facts surrounding the situation.

"Dear North Forney Parents - 

We wanted to let you know about a situation that occurred at North Forney High School this morning.

At approximately 7:50 a.m., a fight involving 5 students occurred in the North Forney High School cafeteria. Numerous NFHS staff were on hand prior to the incident, and had the incident under control in less than 20 seconds. NFHS administration called 911 as a precaution, which caused misleading information to be posted on social media.

First responders arrived after the incident. No one required medical attention. In addition, no threats to the school have been made, and no weapons were involved. The investigation is ongoing at the campus.

There was only 1 fight involving 5 students.

Several staff were on hand prior to the incident and stopped the fight in less than 20 seconds.

911 was called as a precaution.

First responders arrived on the scene after the incident had been contained.

No weapons were used or drawn at any time.

No students were standing on tables.
