Forney City Council Thanks Former Council Member McGee

On Tuesday evening the Forney City Council very briefly recognized the service of former Place 1 City Council Member Cory McGee.

McGee resigned last month after becoming ineligible to serve on the council due to the fact that he no longer lives within the Forney city limits.

Presenting McGee with a gift of appreciation, Mayor Rick Wilson said “Thank you for your contribution to the community and for all the hard work you have done. We appreciate it from the city of Forney.”

Cory McGee was appointed to fill the vacancy on former council member Darrell Hobbs in 2014 after Hobbs moved out of the city limits and could no longer serve. McGee ran unopposed for re-election to the Place 1 seat in May 2016 and then again in 2018.
