Residents will soon have a unique shopping destination in Downtown Forney, as Six Eleven Co. will be opening its doors in the coming weeks. Located at 201 E. Broad or more commonly referred to as the Forney Cotton Gin, which also houses several other shops including Doxa and the recently relocated Whimsy.
Six Eleven Co. is a locally-owned shop that specializes in hand-made home lifestyle décor, gifts and custom furniture, the shop will also stock signs and additional hand-made items from other shops across the country.
“Our goal is to offer unique, one-of-a-kind items for yourself and your loved ones that you can’t really find anywhere else,” said Six Eleven Co. owner Brittani Zmolik. “We love to create pieces of art that are real, just like your home and everyday life. They have character, are individualized, made with love and are designed for you.”
Not only will the shop sell handmade items, but it will also teach you how to create your own. Starting in October, the shop will host several workshops and classes, teaching customers everything from how to make their own unique sign, to learning the art of calligraphy.
The shop will also have its own unique spin on the popular “Painting with a Twist”. Those interested in the classes will be able to sign up for them during the grand opening on October 8. Six Eleven Co. will also hold a raffle and a free taste testing from the Texas Toffee Queens during the grand opening.
