The swimmers of the Forney ISD competed in the Hebron Hawk Invitational on Saturday. The boys finished in 9th place out of 21 teams scoring and finished 28 of all the teams at the meet. FISD Head Swim Coach Dwayne Davis said “All the swimmers did a nice job competing with some big 6A programs and especially on SAT weekend with several team members out”.
Damon Harper led the boys with a 7th place finish in the 500 free and a 16th place in 200 free, while Chad Philips finish 14th in 100 butterfly.
The 400 free relay team of Damon Harper, Chad Phillips, Austin Clevenger, and David Miranda finished 9th, with Miranda splitting a TISCA Texas Interscholastic Coach’s Association (TISCA) qualifying time. The same four swimmers finished in 11th in the Medley Relay.
Swimming for the girls team, Cadyn La Bounty, Hope Carter, Xochtl Lopez and Ellyse Fishburn finished 15th in the 200 Free Relay and 14th in the 400 Free Relay.
The Forney boy’s swim finished 8th. High point scorer was Joey Hite who finshed 7th in the 200 Free and 9th in 100 Back.
Caii Finley was 15th in the 50 free and Clay Henson, John Lindamen, Ben Santibanez, and Finley finished 14th in the 400 Free.
Finley, Henson, Lindamen, and Hite finished 8th in the 200 Free Relay while Eric Gremp set a new team record in the 200 IM. The medley relay of Gremp, Santibanez, Hite and Finley also finished 12th.
The Forney girl’s swim team finished 13th. Cadey Craft finished 14th in the 50 Free while the 200 Free Relay team of Craft, Leah Kuban, Ashlan George, and Shelby Holliman finished 13th in both the 200 and the 4000 Free Relays.
The teams compete again on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at VS Grand Prarie ISD and then again on Saturday at an invitational in Carrollton.
