Last weekend Forney resident Hunter Lambert, an Eagle Scout from Boy Scout Troop #339, refurbished and repainted a 50 foot metal house rack and an outside stairwell for the benefit of Forney Fire Station No.1 located on Aimee Street near downtown Forney.
With the assistance of several friends and family members, Hunter Lambert began the Eagle Scout project early on Saturday morning and consistently worked until the big job was completed.
At Tuesday night’s meeting of the Forney City Council, during his closing remarks, Mayor Pro-tem Ray Stephens recognized Hunter Lambert’s community service project.
Hunter Lambert was not in attendance at the meeting to hear Mayor Pro-tem Stephens state, “We had a young Eagle Scout that did work this past week-end on the fire station. His whole family and a lot of his friends were all out there helping him. They were doing a phenomenal job and they stayed out their most of the day working, and it really made a big impact on the fire station. So I really appreciate him and his whole family.”
