On Thursday afternoon the members of the Forney Chamber of Commerce held their Christmas luncheon at the Forney Best Western where they enjoyed a delicious lunch while listening to a lovely holiday performance presented by the Brown Middle School Advanced Ladies Choir.
While enjoying a full fajita dinner catered by Chili’s in Forney, chamber members were briefly provided a business update by Chamber Board President Susan Seabolt which included the introduction of several new members, as well as the introduction of the upcoming years’ Chamber Board President, Phyllis Lyons.
For several years now the entertainment for the Chamber Christmas Luncheon has been supplied by FISD Fine Arts Director Marion Luna, and a variety of talents choir representing the Forney ISD have performed.
This year the Brown Middle School Advanced Ladies Choir, led under the director of new FISD Choir Teacher Sam Brukhman, did an outstanding job of singing two beautiful Christmas songs to the enjoyment of everyone in the room.
Introducing the choir, FISD Choir Teacher Sam Brookman said “Thank you so much for asking us to be here, we are so honored and thrilled to here today. Who you are looking at today is the Brown Middle School Advanced Ladies Choir."
Brookman said "These ladies come in at seventh period for about an hour every day. And they practice and this is the first year that we have pushed them really hard with the songs that we’re singing and the practicing that we do. They practice in class and out of class so we are extremely proud of them and the progress they have made so far”
Receiving a standing ovation upon the conclusion of their performance, Post readers are invited to enjoy the below video clips of the BMS Advanced Ladies Choir singing “Sleigh Bells” and “White Christmas”.
