Contributing to the ongoing revitalization of downtown, fine dining has finally arrived in Forney with the grand opening of Eno’s Pizza Tavern located at 215 South Bois d’Arc Street.
A truly collaborative effort between Eno’s Pizza Tavern owner’s Shane Spillers and Donna Spillers and the Forney Economic Development Corporation,
the centuries old fire station that once occupied the building has been beautifully transformed into a first class dining establishment where pizza lovers will find a fabulous array of gourmet pizza, pasta, salads, sandwiches and desserts alongside a fully stocked bar.
Excited to finally open their second location in Forney, proprietor Shane Spillers held a very nice VIP Reception on Wednesday evening as a trial run to the official opening to the restaurant which happened on Thursday afternoon immediately following a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony conducted by the Forney Chamber of Commerce.
A couple of hundred local residents, business owners and public officials attended the soft opening on Wednesday night where guests first enjoyed wine and cocktails while sampling a lovely variety of meats, cheeses and fruits.
Shortly afterwards a continuous supply of expertly cooked gourmet pizzas were served, and truly each of the pizzas highlighted was absolutely delicious.
In a class clearly above any of the pizza establishments currently located in Forney, this pizza is cooked within a huge wood burning pizza oven, made with the restaurants signature “baked cracker crust” and topped with an interesting selection of artisan pizza toppings.
Huge, thin crusted pizza pies with names such as “Pig Smiley”, “Meatball and The Goat” and “Rotating Pig” anchor the extensive menu, and any restaurant guest not craving pizza will find a nice selection of delicious pasta and salad entrees to choose from as well.
Fine dining inclusive of cloth napkins, fine china, crystal stemware, a fully stocked bar and live music, is exactly the style of restaurant the Forney Economic Development Board of Director’s has been lobbying to bring into downtown Forney for years.
The fourth eating establishment to join the downtown revitalization efforts, representing the taxpayers, the Forney EDC played a pivotal role in bringing Eno’s Pizza Tavern to town. The building, which was originally two separate suites was gutted and renovated into one large space and the City of Forney provided the proprietors with a lucrative incentive package that encouaged them to establish within the downtown area of town.
