Firefighter Team Wins Hilarious Donkey Basketball Championship

On Monday night the hardworking members of the Forney FFA held “Donkey Basketball” at Forney High School to the delight of a gym full of their supporters.

The annual fundraiser had many in the audience doubled-over in laughter as the basketball game, which is played tournament style from the backs of donkeys, was simply hilarious to watch.

The four teams; Forney Firefighters, FHS Teachers, FHS Student and Local & County Officials included several recognizable citizens.

Fun spirited volunteer basketball players included FHS Principal Stephen Whiffen, Forney Mayor Rick Wilson and Council Member Cory McGee, Kaufman County Constable Jason Johnson and Kaufman County Commissioner Jakie Allen.

Two six minutes quarters were played before intermission, and then all the children attending were invited to come on to the court for donkey rides with assistance from the donkey basketball team players.

After completing the final quarter of the charity driven basketball game, the Forney Firefighter team was awarded trophies as the 2017 Donkey Basketball Champions.
