Henderson Elementary Receives American Flag Flown in Dubai from Military Soldiers

Henderson Elementary recently received a United States flag that was flown in Dubai. Soldiers stationed in Dubai gifted the flag after receiving care packages from students at the school.

Last spring, Henderson Elementary School student council students organized a send off for E8 Sr. Chief Petty Officer Gabriel Jason Bird with the United States Navy. Sr. Chief Petty Officer Bird is currently stationed in Dubai.

He is the father of two students at Henderson Elementary, 6th grade student Austin Becker and Caleb Bird, a first grade student at the school.

During December last year, the student council sent care packages to Sr. Chief Petty Officer Bird and his fellow troops, full of their favorite things. The students recorded some videos wishing the troops a Merry Christmas and thanking them for all they do.

As a thank you, Sr. Chief Petty Officer Bird sent a United States flag to Henderson Elementary that was flown over Dubai on Dec. 3, 2018. It was presented to the Henderson Elementary School Principal Laurie Branch and the school's student council along with a certificate of authenticity and a thank you letter.
