Early on Friday morning, once again the residents of Forney were sent scurrying all over town after a train stalled on the railroad tracks temporarily closing the FM 548 railroad crossing.
A little after seven o’clock this morning, hundreds of commuters attempting to leave Forney were seeking alternate routes out of town as the FM 548 intersection quickly backed up, and then it was discovered that one of the downtown railway crossings was blocked as well.
Unfortunately a two car accident also occurred on FM 740 and South Board Street during this time period which required police, fire and EMT’s to maneuver their way through traffic to assist these motorists.
Several motorists including Forney mayor Rick Wilson and his wife stopped to render aid to these motorists while awaiting the arrival of police assistance.
