Forney Chamber of Commerce Holds Mardi Gras Style Civic Auction

Presenting a festive Mardi Gras theme, on Saturday night the Forney Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors hosted the 31st Annual Chamber of Commerce Civic Auction and everyone attending seemed to have a really fun time.

Held at the Venue 80 in Forney approximately two hundred members, friends and supporters of the Forney Chamber of Commerce gathered to enjoy a delicious chicken and beef fajita dinner, after which they spent considerable time bidding on dozens of Silent Auction items.

Always extremely popular, this year’s silent auction offered a very nice selection of jewelry, housewares, tools, garden supplies, large gift baskets and gift certificates. And it was easy to witness the outpouring of generously from the crowd shopping at the silent auction tables as many items reached their maximum bid amount.

With a new, highly comical auctioneer in place this year, the Live Auction was lots of fun for the many guests who chose to make large purchases on items such as vacation packages, furniture, guns (big and small), a large basket full of lottery and scratch-off tickets, a wheel barrow full of liquor and an official chair of the Texas State Capital.
