The 2019 Forney ISD All City Choir held their 5th annual community performance on Saturday, April 27th at the Forney Learning Academy.
The Forney All City Choir is formed in the spring to unite elementary music programs across the district, promote secondary choral programs, and spread joy to the community. Each elementary campus holds auditions for 5th and 6th grade students who are interested in being a part of the elite All City Choir.
Students that are chosen to be a part of the All City Choir are required to attend after school rehearsals at Warren Middle School, maintain academic excellence in all subjects, as well as radiate leadership, positivity, and perseverance.
Warren Middle School Choir Director, Leah Corcoran and Brown Middle School Choir Director, Sam Brukhman co-directed the 97 member 2019 FISD All City Choir in five after school rehearsals at Warren Middle School and one Saturday rehearsal at the Forney Learning Academy with the assistance of accompanist and Lewis Elementary Music Specialist, Jinei Lee.
FISD elementary specialists also assisted as needed during rehearsals. The FISD Music Specialists are Ben Cato- Blackburn Elementary, Jen Pratt- Claybon Elementary, Troy Hawkins- Criswell Elementary, Jessica Hughes- Crosby Elementary, Teri Everett- Johnson Elementary, Megan Beard- Henderson Elementary, Jinei Lee- Lewis Elementary, Susan Young- Rhea Elementary, and Alyson Lancaster- Smith Elementary.
The Forney ISD Fine Arts Department is under the lead of Mario Luna, Director of Fine Arts.
