City of Rockwall Announces Unique July 4th Festivities

Reminder that there is no Concert by the Lake and no fireworks this Thursday at The Harbor. However, patriotic residents should head instead to Harry Myers Park to celebrate the Fourth of July. Events begin that day at 11 a.m. with the parade that winds through Historic Rockwall.
Then later that day just before the fireworks show at dusk, there will be a unique event taking place. The American Legion will commemorate the 75th anniversary of D-Day, with a parachute demonstration.

Parachutists will jump from a vintage WWII Navy R4D-6S airplane, flown by the Dallas-Fort Worth wing of the Commemorative Air Force. The R4D-6S will fly over Harry Myers Park at about 7:45 p.m., followed by a parachute demonstration at approximately 7:50 p.m. before the fireworks display at dusk.
The Terry Fisher American Legion Post marks its 100th anniversary this year.
