Forney ISD Named a Best Community for Music for the 2nd Time

Forney ISD has been honored with the Best Communities for Music Education designation from the NAMM Foundation for its outstanding commitment to music education. Forney ISD joins 476 districts across the country in receiving the prestigious award in 2016. 41 districts received this recognition in Texas with 21 of them being from the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

NFHS Art Students Work Selected to Hang in US Capitol

North Forney High School art student Emma Sumrow recently won the U.S. Congressional Art Competition for the 5th Congressional District. Sumrow's artwork, "Same Species, Different Colors" is an acrylic painting and was chosen to represent Representative Jeb Hensarling's District and hang in the U.S. Capitol Building.

This is Sumrow's second artwork to win the U.S. Congressional Art Competition. She won the competition in 2015 with her pastel drawing, "Time is Golden".

KCCAC Annual Purse Bingo Night Raises Big Money

Several hundred supporters of the Kaufman County Children’s Advocacy Center gathered at Classic Industries in Forney on Saturday night for the non-profit organizations 4th Annual Purse Bingo Fundraiser and many of the bingo players were very generous.

Forney ISD Loses a Close Family Member

The Forney Independent School District lost a close family member recently with the passing of Mr. Anthony (Tony) Jackson. Mr. Jackson, a teacher at Brown Middle School, passed away peacefully of natural causes early Tuesday morning, Oct. 6.
