The Forney City Council will meet tonight for their regularly scheduled bi-monthly meeting however they will convene earlier than usual, at 6:00 p.m., in order to hold a workshop on the proposed 2015-2016 Fiscal Year Operating Budget.
Each year’s operating budget must be approved and officially adopted by October 31st and it is designed and delivered for City Council approval by City Manager Brian Brooks after months of departmental negotiations, meetings and revisions.
Citizens following the expenditures authorized by City Manager Brooks, employment salaries, numerous city improvement projects or the use of property or EDC tax funds, may find interest in the proposed 2015-2016 Fiscal Year Operating Budget and or its scheduled adoption process.
Following the Budget Workshop will be a short agenized meeting which contains only three items for Council consideration.
The announcement of a Public Hearing date for the FY 2015-2016 proposed budget hearing on September 2, 2015, the discussion and approval of the 2015 Certified Tax Roll and the proposed naming of the new roadway that will be adjacent to the Fire Station #2 after Glenn “Red” Whaley.
All meetings of the Forney City Council are held within Forney City Hall and are freely open to the public.
