Texas Regional Medical Center Receives “A” in Patient Safety

Texas Regional Medical Center at Sunnyvale received the top grade in The Leapfrog Group’s Fall 2015 Safety Score, representing the hospital’s continued commitment to delivering safe, high-quality healthcare services.

The Leapfrog Group Hospital Safety Score is a rating system designed to give consumers information they can use to make healthcare decisions for themselves or a loved one.

Every day, our team of Texas Regional Medical Center colleagues is focused on improving outcomes and enhancing the safety of the care we deliver,” said Collin Lemaistre, Chief Executive Officer of Texas Regional Medical Center. “We are proud to receive an ‘A’ grade in safety from The Leapfrog Group, as we believe it reflects the hard work of our team to position our hospital as a leading, trusted provider of care for the patients we are privileged to serve.”

The Hospital Safety Score (www.hospitalsafetyscore.org) is an initiative of The Leapfrog Group (www.leapfroggroup.org), a national nonprofit organization using the collective leverage of large purchasers of health care to initiate breakthrough improvements in the safety, quality and affordability of health care for Americans.

The flagship Leapfrog Hospital Survey allows purchasers to structure their contracts and purchasing to reward the highest performing hospitals. The Leapfrog Group was founded in November 2000 with support from the Business Roundtable and national funders and is now independently operated with support from its purchaser and other members.
