Dallas Mavericks Host Jr NBA Clinic

Devin Harris and Jalen Brunson are teaming up with Mavs Basketball Academy coaches to host a mini basketball clinic for 50 kids from After-School All-Stars.

As part of the Jr. NBA program, the Dallas Mavericks host free basketball clinics across North Texas with after-school programs and other nonprofit partners throughout the season.

Jr. NBA clinics aim to celebrate, grow and improve the game of basketball by teaching kids the fundamentals of the sport, while also instilling core values including teamwork, respect and sportsmanship.

ASAS North Texas provides free, daily comprehensive after-school programs to keep at-risk youth safe and engaged after-school. ASAS provides students with transformative, engaging academic and enrichment opportunities that ignite new interests and build confidence for success in high school and beyond.

It is the local chapter of the national non-profit organization that serves more than 90,000 youth across 468 schools, more than 90 percent of which live in under resourced communities. The North Texas chapter opened in 2012, and now ASAS North Texas is serving over 750 students at six high-need schools this 2018-2019 school year. For more information, visit www.asasnorthtexas.org.
