NFH Falcon Baseball & Softball Teams Off to a Great Start

The North Forney Falcon Baseball Team is off to a great 7-1-1 start so far this season.

To begin their 2019 baseball season, the Falcons went to play in the Royse City Tournament.

At this tournament, North Forney posted victories over Dallas WT White (7-3), Garland High School (7-2), and Dallas Hillcrest (10-5). In between these victories, Royse City, the tournament host, defeated North Forney by a count of 2-1 to hand the Falcons their only loss so far this season.

Then, at the Mesquite ISD Tournament, North Forney registered wins over Mesquite High School (6-0) Dallas Woodrow Wilson (10-1), Mesquite Horn (5-1), and Dallas Seagoville (13-0). Note: North Forney also played Dallas Skyline to a 6-6 tie at the Mesquite Tournament.
Top hitters for North Forney so far this season are Corbin Thompson, Garrett Gray, Cameron Moore, Zane Bandfield, and Hayden Shipley to name a few.

Key pitchers for the Falcons this season are Balen Ebert, Logan Williams, Baxter Tuten, and Valdemar Gonzales to name a few. In fact, Logan Williams and Balen Ebert have already thrown shut outs this season against Mesquite High School and Dallas Seagoville respectively.

Mesquite Horn, Dallas Hillcrest, Dallas Seagoville, and Dallas Woodrow Wilson were playoff teams last season.

If you get a chance, come out and see this team play. They have a really good chance of making the playoffs for only the 2nd time in their history.
This week, the North Forney Falcon baseball team will play in the Corsicana Tournament.


The North Forney Lady Falcon Softball Team has been playing well so far this season.

However, early on, North Forney struggled as they got out to a 2-4 start on the season. But, then they got things headed in the right direction.

The team has posted wins recently over Ennis (14-4), Palmer High School (7-1), McKinney High School (15-7), and Paris North Lamar (4-2). In between these victories, in other games, Abilene High School defeated North Forney by a count of 4-3 and McKinney North defeated North Forney by a count of 12-1. Also, North Forney and Midland High School battled to a 0-0 tie. Right now, North Forney has a 6-6-1 overall record. Note: Paris North Lamar, Abilene High School, McKinney North, and Midland High School were playoff teams last season.

Top hitters for the North Forney Lady Falcons so far this season are Alyssa Gaidos, Brooke Corneilson, Riley Borton, Bailey Willoughby, and Hayeli Acosta to name a few.

North Forney’s top pitcher this season is Savannah Gunn.

District 13-5A play for the North Forney Lady Falcons will start on March 5.
