Lady Falcons Win Thrilling Soccer Victory over Royse City

On Friday, April 5, the North Forney Lady Falcon Soccer Team captured the Regional Quarter Final Playoff Title with a thrilling victory over the #1 ranked team in the state from Royse City High School. At the end of regulation play, this game was tied at 2-all.

Then through two over time periods, this game still remained tied. So, this game went into a winner take all penalty kick shootout.

In the penalty kick shootout, North Forney outscored Royse City by a count of 4-3 to ultimately win this game.

Goals for North Forney in regulation play during this game were scored by Alexa Hernandez and Shannon Boyle. In the penalty kick shootout, North Forney’s goals were registered by Alexa Hernandez, Chelsea Harrington, Shannon Boyle and Valerie Rodriguez. Also, North Forney’s goal keeper Elizabeth Lewis made a big save/ block in the penalty kick shootout as well.

With this victory, North Forney improves to 17-2-6 overall on the season. Royse City sees their season end at 22-1-3.

Now, in the Regional Semi Final Playoff Round, North Forney will square off against state power house Dallas Highland Park. Note: This is the first time ever that a Forney ISD Soccer Team (boys/girls) has advanced to the Regional Semi Finals (Final 16 Teams in the State). This game is scheduled to be played on Friday, April 12th at Carrolton’s Standridge Stadium. Start Time: 10:00 a.m.

The match ups at the Class 5A Region II Girls Soccer Tournament this year are as follows.

North Forney (17-2-6) vs. State Ranked Dallas Highland Park (22-1-3)

State Ranked Frisco Independence (23-1-1) vs. Mount Pleasant (15-9)
