Forney ISD Golf Teams Perform Well at District 13-5A Tournament 

On April 2-3, the Forney ISD Golf Teams performed very well at the District 13-5A Golf Tournament. 

The top performance at this tournament for the Forney ISD Teams was turned in by the North Forney Lady Falcons.

For the record, the Lady Falcon team of Bianca Cunningham, Kara Kurtz, McKenzie Ryan, Calleigh Medrum, and Jordan Milliorn won the District 13-5A Team Title by an amazing 56 strokes. These ladies shot a combined two-day total of 776 (386-390).  Also, Bianca Cunningham won the individual District 13-5A Title by 13 strokes as she shot a two-day total of 155 (79-76).

Overall, Bianca, Kara, Calleigh, McKenzie, and Jordan finished 1st, 4th, 6th, 10th, and 14th respectively in the final tournament standings. Note: By finishing in the Top 2 at the District 13-5A Golf Tournament, the North Forney Lady Falcon Team earned a spot to the Class 5A Region II Golf Tournament. 

The Forney Jackrabbit Boys Team of Justin Morris, Luke Preston, Cason Whitworth, Zane Syjansky, and Austin George finished 2nd as a team at this tournament by shooting a combined two-day total of 699 (358-341). The Jackrabbit Boys’ top performer at this tournament was Justin Morris who registered a two-day total of 152 (80-72) to finish 3rd in the final standings. Note: According to reports, Justin’s 2nd day round score of 72 is a new personal best for him. Also, according to reports, Luke’s two round scores of 89 and 88 were personal bests for him.

Overall, Justin, Luke, Cason, Zane, and Austin, finished 3rd, 5th, 6th, 8th and 10th respectively in the final tournament standings. Note: By finishing in the Top 2 at the District 13-5A Golf Tournament, the Forney Jackrabbit Boys Team earned a spot to the Class 5A Region II Golf Tournament.

The Forney Lady Rabbit Team of Hannah Preston, Camryn Teer, Avery Fahey, Liilli Wehmeyer, and Chloe Crane finished 3rd as a team at this tournament by shooting a combined two-day total of 843 (428-415). The Lady Rabbits’ top performer at this tournament was Hannah Preston who shot a two-day total of 194 (95-99) to finish a personal best 3rd in the final standings. Overall, Hannah, Camryn, Avery, Lilli, and Chloe finished 3rd, 5th, 8th, 11th, and 21st respectively in the final tournament standings.

 

For the record, Hannah and Camryn performed well enough at the District 13-5A Tournament to earn a spot to the Class 5A Region II Tournament.

The north Forney Falcon Boys Team of Kayden Gammill, Blake Quintana, Reece Wagenfuehr, Austin Weaver, and Christian Kennedy finished 4th as a team at this tournament by shooting a combined two-day total of 844 (424-420).  Overall, Kayden, Blake, Recce, Austin, and Christian finished 13th, 14th, 16th, 18th, and 19th respectively in the final tournament standings.

This Just In: For the North Forney Lady Falcon District Champion 13-5A Golf Team, Bianca Cunningham, Kara Kurtz, and Calleigh Medrum earned 1st Team All-District Honors for their performances at the District 13-5A Tournament. Also, for the Lady Falcon Golf Team, McKenzie Ryan earned 2nd Team All-District Honors for her performance at the District 13-5A Tournament.  

For the Forney Jackrabbit Boys, Justin Morris, Luke Preston, and Cason Whitworth earned 1st Team All-District Honors for their performances at the District 13-5A Tournament.

Also, for the Forney Jackrabbit Boys Golf Team Zane Syjansky, and Austin George earned 2nd Team All-District Honors for their performances at the District 13-5A Tournament. For the Forney Lady Rabbit Golf Team, Hannah Preston and Camryn Teer earned 1st Team All-District Honors for their performances at the District 13-5A Tournament.  Also, for the Forney Lady Rabbit Golf Team, Avery Fahey and Lilli Wehmeyer earned 2nd Team All-District Honors for their performances at the District 13-5A Tournament.

The Class 5A Region II Girls Golf Tournament is scheduled to be played on April 22-23 at the Rockwall Golf and Athletic Club. The Class 5A Region II Boys Golf Tournament is scheduled to be played on April 24-25 at the Rockwall Golf and Athletic Club.
