This past week, both of the Forney ISD baseball teams bowed out in the Bi District Playoff Round.
Midlothian High School defeated the Jackrabbits by a count of 2 game to 1 in their Bi District Playoff Series. Corsicana High School swept the Falcons in their Bi-District Playoff Series by a count of 2 games to none.
The results of the games in both series are as follows.

North Forney High School vs. Corsicana High School

The final records for the Forney Jackrabbit and North Forney Falcon baseball teams this season are 21-11-1 and 20-10-2 respectively.

In Game 1 at Forney High School’s home field on Wednesday, May 1st, the Jackrabbits built an early 3-0 lead by scoring three runs in the bottom of the first inning. These runs came via a Midlothian error, a RBI infield single by Justin McMahan, and a RBI sacrifice bunt by A. Pryzbo respectively.
However, Midlothian fought back quickly in the form of a grand slam homer during the top of the 3rd inning. This home run put Midlothian ahead by a count of 4-3.
Then, heavy rainfall came down which eventually postponed this game until the afternoon of Thursday, May 2.
When this game continued, Forney’s offense exploded for 3 runs in the bottom of the 3rd which helped the Rabbits regain the leads at 6-4. Two of these runs came home via a dropped third strike and the other run in this frame was plated by a RBI single to right by Addison Haley.
Then, in the bottom of the 4th, Forney scored an additional run due to another Midlothian error. So now, Forney led 7-4.
In the 6th, Forney scored one final run via a RBI bases loaded walk by Addison Haley. Final Score: Forney 8 Midlothian 4.
On the mound for Forney, the duo of Austin Ream and Cesar Eguia limited Midlothian to 4 runs on 5 hits while striking out 8.
In Game 2 at Midlothian High School on Friday, May 3rd, the Panthers scored a run via a Forney error in the bottom of the 2nd inning. This run was the only one registered in the game.
However, Forney had a golden chance to score some runs in the top of the 7th and final inning. The Rabbits loaded the bases with two outs. But in the end, Midlothian got the final out to win the game.
Despite the loss, Will Morgan pitched a great game for the Jackrabbits. In six innings of work, Mr. Morgan limited Midlothian to just 1 run on 2 hits while striking out 10.
In Game 3 at Dallas Baptist University on Saturday May 4, Midlothian scored three runs in the bottom of the first inning to build an early 3-0 lead.
These runs came home via a RBI double to right and a 2 RBI single to center. The score would stay at 3-0 until the top of the 5th inning. That is when Forney scored a run via a RBI single to center by Tyler Dickey. So, now the score was 3-1 in favor of Midlothian.
In the bottom of the 5th, Midlothian scored another run via a RBI sacrifice fly to center. So, now the score stood at 4-1.
But, in the top of the 6th, Forney rallied by scoring 4 runs which helped the Rabbits vault into the lead at 5-4. These runs came home via a 2 RBI single to right by Campbell Anderson, a RBI bunt single by Riley McMurren, and a RBI single to right by Tyler Dickey.
By the bottom of the 7th and final inning, Forney was still leading at 5-4. However, in the end, Midlothian mounted a rally of their own thanks to two different RBI singles to center. These big RBI hits won the game and the series for Midlothian.

In Game 1 at Dallas Baptist University on Thursday May 2nd, Corsicana took a 2-0 lead with single runs in the bottom of the 1st and 4th innings respectively. These runs came home via a RBI single to center and a RBI bases loaded walk respectively.
Then, in the bottom of the 6th inning, Corsicana added two more runs to increase their lead to 4-0. The key hits in this frame for the Tigers were a RBI sacrifice fly to right and a RBI single to right respectively.
To their credit, the Falcons kept battling hard to the end. As proof, North Forney plated two runs in the bottom of the 7th and final inning. These runs were registered on a RBI single to left by Logan Williams and RBI groundout by Garrett Gray. However, in the end, North Forney’s determined rally would fall short and Corsicana would put this game in the win column.
In Game 2 at Dallas Baptist University on Friday May 3rd, Corsicana scored 2 runs in the first inning, 4 in the third, 1 in the fourth, and 4 in the seventh on their way to ultimate victory. Meanwhile, North Forney scored both of their runs in this game during the 2nd inning. These runs came home via a RBI double to center by Logan Williams and a Corsicana wild pitch respectively.
