The residents of Texas all know that when the weather changes to a cool October breeze it’s time for the State Fair of Texas, and many residents raised in the Dallas-Fort Worth area delight in their understanding that there’s nothing better than a beautiful day at the State Fair of Texas.
Celebrating its 132nd year, the State Fair of Texas was established in 1886 as a unique way to celebrate all the things Texas has to offer. Now operating as a 501©(3) nonprofit organization, State Fair officials have pursued opportunitiesto expand the fair to include more agricultural, educational and community involved activities.
Recognizing that the State Fair of Texas welcomed 2,250,433 visitors in 2017, this year fair officials chose to deem the fair’s theme “Celebrating Texas Innovation”.
Commemorating “all the Texans and Texas innovations that have helped influence our current way of life”; to the delight of many area residents the State Fair of Texas is ranked as the largest state fair in the United States.
The State Fair of Texas is a one-of-a-kind, mega-sized reflection of all the wonderful things that the State of Texas has to offers. Big and usual foods, big animals, big games, rides, exhibits and fun entertainment venues. Those attending the fair this year should enjoy the large variety of attractions,exhibit and shows, many of which are free with the price of fair admission.
Families with children will be delighted with the new “Children’s Boardwalk” which includes several White Swan Paddle Boats, interactive games, coloring boards and fun photograph boards.
The “All Star Stunt Dog Show” held within the Pam Am Arena, which has been featured on the Ellen DeGeneres Show and the Oprah Winfrey Show, and the "Wild West Pet Palooza" show were also extremely popular with the families attending the 2018 State Fair of Texas.
