Car enthusiasts’ traveled from across Texas to purchase, sell and witness the action at the three-day Mecum Dallas 2018 auction held in downtown from October 3 – 6, 2018.
Held at the historic Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center on Griffin Street in downtown Dallas, the hugely popular auction company specializes in the televised auctioning of rare and extremely expensive collector automobiles, boats and motorcycles.
Recognized as the “world’s largest collector-car auction company”, Mecum Auctions is currently touring the United States televising their auctions from cities including Dallas, Chicago, Davenport, Las Vegas and Kansas City.
Beautifully showcasing over a thousand barely driven, originally restored, American muscle cars, classics, exotics, Corvettes and Hot Rods, the Mecum Dallas auction was attended by dozens of car dealers, personal car collectors and individuals fans of numerous American made cars.
Reserved floor seating was packed with individual car collectors and car dealers with clients on the phone, and many times the vehicle being bid on quickly obtained its “reserve” price and was then sold for more than the owner’s asking price.
Audience favorites included a 1957 Pontiac Bonneville Convertible and a 1957 Buick Super Convertible, both of which had been “body-off” restored. And a pair of highly documented 1969 Chevrolet Camaro RS Z28’s with 302 cubic-inch engines and 4-speed transmissions.
As the talented auctioneer expertly drove up the price tag on several exceptional vehicles, the bidding action at Mecum Dallas 2018 stayed heated and fun to watch throughout its entirety.
