State and federal dollars are flowing into Texas communities recovering from the May 4 through June 19 storms, straight-line winds, tornadoes and floods.
The Texas Department of Transportation, in coordination with the National Weather Service and the State Operations Center, is monitoring the impacts of heavy rains in north Texas on the Red River. At this point, the river’s crest is not projected to overtop any of the bridges crossing the river.
VR-59, “The Lone Star Express," a Fort Worth, Texas based Navy Fleet Logistics Support Squadron, is staying true to its Texas roots by providing the airlift support for the crew swap of USS FORT WORTH (LCS 3), currently deployed to Singapore as part of the Navy’s strategic rebalance to the Pacific. The aircraft departed for Singapore on Sunday, February 8th, with a fresh crew for the deployed ship. The crew currently embarked in USS FORT WORTH will be returning home to San Diego tomorrow with VR-59 after a six month deployment.
