A federal judge ruled in favor of the City of Dallas following its decision to ban a pornography convention from being hosted at a city-owned convention center. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and the Dallas Citizens Council filed an amicus brief earlier this month in support of the city.

In an ongoing effort to enhance state roadways and improve safety, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) approved a $22 million dollar contract to provide safety shoulders, bridge replacement and pavement improvements on FM 1388 and FM 2860.
The projects include replacing the bridge and relief on FM 1388 at King’s Creek, adding three-foot safety shoulders on FM 1388 from US 175 to FM 148
Baylor Scott & White Health and Tenet Healthcare Corporation (THC) have completed the previously announced joint venture to own five hospitals in North Texas.
The facilities included are Centennial Medical Center in Frisco, Doctors Hospital at White Rock Lake in Dallas, Lake Pointe Medical Center in Rowlett, Texas Regional Medical Center at Sunnyvale and Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Garland.
The North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) achieved a historic milestone for the Lower Bois d’Arc Creek Reservoir (LBCR) with issuance of a water rights permit from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) on June 26, 2015. It is the first uncontested water rights permit issued by TCEQ for a major reservoir in the last 50 years, and one of the first uncontested inter-basin transfers of water.
